Remember Michel'le....and Mokenstef?! Along with many others

Man, back in the day. I love Michel'le. I was only like 5 or 6 when I heard that song "No More Lies." She was just so funky and quirky that I was obsessed. She did hip hop soul before Mary J Blidge probably even dreamed of a record deal. Plus, she can actually SANG! Sorry Mary.

Something in My Heart...she's a true lady!

Lucy Pearl "Don't Mess With My Man"...Why did they break up?!

Tony Toni Tone "Lay Your Head on My Pillow"

Mokenstef "He's Mine"

Memory pt. 1

A lot of the time she tries to pretend that it's normal, that any other person in her situation would feel and act the same way, maybe worse. It was another day of procrastination, stressing, and general dreadlocks twirling when that person called.

"Hi sweet pea." The voice was very agitated, that familiar tone that for spoke of the usual trauma to come. It was the evidence that the entity had arrived.

She really hated talking on the phone, especially to this creature who used to a be a different person...or maybe the issue was, she really never changed.

"Hello, pod. How are you doing."

"Eh, okay, ah guess. Have you been eating?? Do you have food?? Have you been busy with class??" It was the nervous line of questioning that really was meant to direct her to the inquire about the next paranoid inducing pain.

"Yes, pod, I'm fine."

Some words.

Is it addictive behaviors?

Is it wavering self confidence?

Is it self aggrandizing arrogance?

A denial of passion,

Is it proclamation of defamation?

Is it past experience carried as battle scars

Is it current accomplishment as a war prize?

Impatience disguised as intensity,

A cry for attention?

Is it a longing for things that lie beyond?

Family gives Principal Contusions over grades and cell phone ban

More violence in the classroom in Italy:

This time male relatives of a young student gave a veteran Principal contusions, their ire raised by the student's poor grades and a cell phone ban.

Really, I don't know what to say about this one. I'm at a loss. I think I might be glad I didn't choose to follow the advice of my teachers and mentors in joining the classroom. It gets bloody!

George Takei is a brilliant humorist!

This is Takei's response to Tim Hardaway's gay comments, believe, they are not what you think! Gut busting, truly.

Sister Rosetta Thorpe and the Noisettes

I love being a black woman. One day I'm going to play guitar like that!

And here is the UK indie rock band, The Noisettes' Myspace. They have a song "Sister Rosetta", presumably dedicated to the legendary woman.
